Milestone Event II. – Debrecen
1-3 July, 2010, Debrecen, Hungary
As a result of continuous ongoing professional work, a clear transitional plan was developed in 2010 for the global implementation of the establishment of an effective global structure, and for the development of the principles.
The international workshop held in Debrecen on 1-3 July 2010 enabled twelve representatives of the river basins to successfully develop a satisfactory solution standards. Professional representatives from four continents, three American, three African, three European and three Asian river valleys have endowed the Ihlet Team as the integrator of the joint program this experimental program, whose pilot project is the Tisza River basin.
We are extremely honored to have been asked to play a coordinating role in advancing this extraordinary global project. The participants agreed that twelve legal entities that is Focal Points should be set up so they may possess the same professional competencies.

The basic template of a Focal Point:
– 1/3 governmental agency owned
– 1/3 universities, research institutes
– 1/3 integrator owned
This template will create an effective network capable of establishing professional links with all other countries hydro-geologically affected by the river valleys.
As a result of this work, nearly fifty countries are expected to be able to work together to control and protect water resources.
The participants of the workshop held in Debrecen identified the priorities and formulated their proposals together. Compared to the recommendations, the final actors involved in the 3 EU river valleys project are the Odra river basin, the Tisza river basin and the Maritsa river basin.
